JOHN FULLER FOR KNOX COUNTY SHERIFF
I am excited to announce my candidacy for Knox County Sheriff in 2026 on the Republican ticket. With the current sheriff retiring at the end of 2026 due to term limits, Knox County citizens will be electing a new sheriff, and I believe I am the most qualified person to be your next sheriff.
I have lived in Knox County my entire adult life. After graduating from high school I worked for local building contractors and later opened my own construction company, where I built and remodeled homes in Knox County for 20 years.
I live in Vincennes with my wife of 26 years, Stephanie (Barnett) Fuller, and 3 children, Bradley, Sydney, and Tyler Fuller. In 2003, I began my career at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office as a reserve deputy. I accepted the position as a jail officer in 2007 and in 2008, I was promoted to road deputy. I patrolled the roads in Knox County answering calls for service, working crashes and making arrests and in 2016 I was promoted to Captain, and then to Major in 2019. In August of 2021, I was appointed Chief Deputy by the current sheriff. This position has also helped me prepare to be your next sheriff.
I have a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Human Services, along with 20+ years of experience as a Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy. I have worked every job at the Sheriff’s Office from jail officer to Chief Deputy, so I know what is needed in all positions.
